Dolomiti Super Fly; Beyond Glides: Decision Cards; The Paradox of Paragliding Safety; new ‘Safety’ category on Ad Nubes.
The Dolomiti Super Fly takes place from 23 to 28 August. The route of the hike-and-fly competition takes participants past the Dolomites – from which the event takes its name – to Lake Garda and Neuschwanstein Castle. Among those registered are the usual suspects from the hike-and-fly scene, such as Markus Anders, Aaron Durogati, Simon Oberrauner and Christian Maurer.
The guys behind Beyond Glides, Stefano and Raphi, offer what are known as ‘Decision Cards’ on their website. These are designed to help pilots make informed and safe decisions during all phases of flight. They are kept brief, with clear key phrases, which are intended to support informed and considered decision-making.
Aljaz Salkic is best known for his funny videos on his YouTube channel, ‘Addiction Happiness’. But he also tackles the topic of safety. In this video, he explains why he believes that the trend towards more robust paraglider safety features may actually have the opposite effect.
