Paragliding XC: 80 km Flatlands Triangle – Full Analysis; Alone through Kyrgyzstan – by paraglider; Paragliding Cerro El Plomo – A Vol Biv in the Andes; The First Man to Paraglide Across the Colorado Rockies
There are many paragliding videos, but videos in which the background is explained in detail, from weather briefing to analysing the airspace and what to pay attention to in flight, are rather rare. One person who does this in an exemplary manner is Tom Rocher. In this video, Tom is flying in the French lowlands.
I am personally fascinated by bivouac adventures, especially those in which someone travels alone by paraglider in a foreign country where there is little infrastructure. One of these adventurers is Nemuel. In this video, he talks about his experiences in Kyrgyzstan, just 8 months after obtaining his licence.
Not only Kyrgyzstan offers the necessary environment for a bivouac adventure, but also the Andes. The particular challenge of the Andes is the frequent strong winds that blow in from the Pacific and often make flying impossible for us paraglider pilots. Matt Johnston talks about his bivouac flights near Santiago de Chile.
I haven’t researched the exact background to the following video, but it’s definitely a cinema-quality video worth watching.
